Top 5 tips for growing beans with success

You do not need to be an expert in gardening when it comes to growing beans successfully.  As long as you know the 5 elements that beans need, you will surely your bean growing and ready in no time.  These elements will be the epitome of an abundant green bean harvest.

•    Type of bean
First of all, before starting with your planting venture, you need to know what type of bean you want to grow and their growing requirements.  Pole beans need a trellis because they are a vine type of beans.  Runner beans on the other hand, are a bush type of bean and don’t need support to grow.

•    Sunlight
Beans are warm season plants.  This means that they need sun exposure to grow and survive.  It would be best to plant them in the southern or eastern part of your garden to receive the most amount of sunlight as possible.  Try to avoid planting them under shady trees.  Not only do shady trees block the sun, they also take the nutrients that are supposed to go to your beans.

•    Weather conditions
It is common knowledge that beans hate frost.  Frost can kill your beans.  Therefore, you should only try planting your beans when you are already sure that the last frost has passed.  Usually, you can plant beans in April until the last week of May.

•    Water
Beans typically need to be watered once a day.  They need an adequate amount of moisture to live.  If you live in very hot conditions pay attention to moisture levels and adequate watering.

•    Fertilizers
Use compost and fertilizers to add nutrients to your beans.  Nutrients are needed to ensure a healthy bean plant.
